As I’m sitting writing this, the sun is shining and there’s a promise in the air that Spring is on its way. I don’t know about you, but it feels like this Winter, although not harsh, has been a particularly long one and I’m just so desperate to feel the sun on my face.
Of course, with changing seasons, come changing fragrances. Whilst I’ve not yet released any new tin candles, my diffuser range is increasing to add in the following fragrances:
Bergamot & Ginger – MY ABSOLUTE NUMBER 1 FAVOURITE – EVER!
Pink Grapefruit & Basil – Made as bespoke orders, regularly for customers, I decided to launch this into my range. It’s a crisp, fresh, citrus fragrance that works incredibly well in a kitchen.
Lime & Mango – this encapsulates Summer! It smells like a fresh, Caribbean cocktail! Of all the fragrances I’ve made, this one really gets into the atmosphere and lingers, with a clean, citrus zing.
Pear & Freesia – always a popular candle and melt choice, it felt right to add this to the diffuser range. Perfect for Spring!
Of course, the most exciting thing is the launch of my botanical wax melts. These were made by me 8 years ago until changing rules and regulations meant they were no longer allowed. There’s a gigantic choice of 26 fragrances and I’ve priced these sensibly at £1.20 each (20 hours of fragrance) or 10 for £10.00. These are launching this weekend at Lavenham Farmers’ Market so I’m excited to get people’s opinions on them.
Giftboxes for these will be launching later in the year and will make absolutely perfect Christmas presents – again at a sensible price level, but, as is always my way – beautifully packaged and looking far more expensive than the price you’ll have to pay.
Of course, this first quarter has seen a different way of working. I’m not going to lie and say it’s been easy, because turning my house over to a million cardboard boxes and the super strong fragrances, has been difficult. Somehow, however, I’ve made it work and am managing to get the right balance of work/home life. It has meant having to say no to some opportunities, but I’d rather do that than let someone down.
That said, I have embarked on a fragrance collection for a wedding company, supplied a couple of local shops and have just priced up for a large white label project. In the meantime, I’ve applied for several larger fairs over the summer – starting in May with The Hadleigh Show and my favourite event, Clare Priory in July and of course, the Christmas events that consume November. So, I can’t really ask much more than that and am excited to be able to work in my own time/at my own pace during the warmer months of the year. Afterall, who cares if I’m making candles at midnight?!
